Spend your holidays in Cesenatico, known throughout Italy for being home of the pirate Marco Pantani! In the beautiful town of Cesenatico centuries of culture wait to be admired: monuments, museums and works of art in fact animate the historic centre of this important tourist destination overlooking the Adriatic Sea, situated in the area between Rimini and Ravenna and born as port of Cesena.
Currently Cesenatico represents one of the favourite holiday destinations by tourists in all the seasons of the year thanks to important initiatives also in winter, such as the famous Crib on the boats and the presence of unique monuments such as the beautiful Harbour canal of Leonardo.
In September 1502 Leonardo da Vinci, on behalf of the Valentino itself, studied the structures of the harbour of Cesenatico and, after having carried out a careful reconnaissance, designed a series of improvements and variants that, subsequently adopted, have made that port a safe haven, also from the strategic-military point as was demonstrated during the Napoleonic period.
Life in Cesenatico flows mainly on the waterfront and in the nearby town centre, dotted with characteristic shops, designer boutiques, venues for aperitifs and after dinner and excellent fish restaurants, much loved by the locals.
Cesenatico is reachable with the Highway A 14 or by train, along the Adriatic line changing train at the station of Rimini (Cesenatico is equipped with its own railway station excellently connected to Rimini via regional trains).
